We love Finesse! We truly do, and can never keep enough of this beer.
Produced by the fantastically-named De Dochter van de Korenaar Brouwerij in Baarle-Hertog on the Dutch-Belgian border, this beer is unique. It is a three-grain tripel style ale, using wheat, barley and rye. It also includes three noble hops, and undergoes maturation on one resin. It pours a great looking amber-orange colour, with a tightly pack white foam. It has a deep nose of malt and sweet fruits, backed by a little hop and spice.
The first sip is a delicious mouthful of smooth, rich flavour. Lots of sweet fruits early, maybe a little hint of honey. The bready malts supplement the luxurious mouthfeel, and as it develops the earthiness and bite from the noble hops kick in. A comfortable warmth from the alcohol combines with the lingering bitterness to leave a very pleasant, lasting impression.
Ronald is a brewer who follows his passion for brewing, rather than knocking out commercial beer. It is all 'out of the box', but always interesting and delicious. He is always experimenting (see the 'Experiments' page on the brewery website!), and for that reason, we can't always get all the beer we would like. So enjoy this beer when you can!
