Another beer from the boys at Alvinne, that features the Morpheus yeast.
The first thing to say is that it is like no tripel you will have tried before. It may have started out life with the same recipe as their standard Belgian Tripel style, but the Morpheus yeast has grabbed this beer with both hands.
Lively would be an understatement – have your glass ready for this one. It pours an attractive amber colour. There is the aroma of sweet malts and the funky, sour Morpheus yeast.
The sourness is subtle but evident straight away. Later on, more malt and fruit sweetness comes through. There beer evolves as you make your way through, with multiple flavour layers.
Interesting Fact: in 2011 Ratebeer users voted Alvinne as ‘The Best Brewery to Visit’. We’ve been visiting since 2007, and enjoy dropping in on the guys each and every time.
