This beer is one of the showpieces in the Emelisse standard range. A rich and luxurious Imperial Stout, infused with coffee beans from Italy.
For the coffee afficienados the coffee used is a blend of 90% Arabica and 10% Robusta.
It has a dark brown, almost black body, with an off-white foam through which escapes the inviting aroma of roasted malts, dried fruits, a little chocolate and of course coffee.
The first thing you notice about the beer is that it truly is an imperial stout. Lots of deep, rich chocolate, roasted malt and dark fruit flavours. The coffee is present, but in the background adding a dry spiciness. There is no sharp astringency that you can find with some coffee beers.
Enjoy the evolution of the flavours in this beer as it warms. Gentle hints of coffee remain in the long, rich and warming aftertaste.
