This beer is an attractive yellow gold, with a very slight cloudiness, sitting beneath an impressive white ice cream head. The smell is of soft spices and light fruits, as well as the typical Belgian yeasty esters – banana, cloves, mild citrus, bread.
The flavour is a great balance of bitter and sweet. Hops are detectable without being too obvious, while the fruit and honey sweetness is matched against citrus and peppery spice. As the beer warms a little, the flavours develop and become more pronounced.Brouwerij de Musketieres started out as four mates doing an Engineering Degree, who had a passion for home brewing. Two continued the journey and now run the brewery. The refer to this beer simply as 'Troubadour Beer' - they've given their other five beers names suggestive of the style, but the blond is their original brew carried through from their home brewing days.
Awards for the Beer: Troubadour Blond has placed 1st and 3rd in the last two World Beer Cups, as 'Best Belgian Style Blond or Pale Ale'!
