by Brasserie Lefebvre

This beer pours a hazy light golden colour, with a fluffy white head.  There is a good amount of yeast sediment present.  As you flip the top of the swing-top bottle, the first hints of hops are released.  Grassy, floral notes, along with gentle spicing, banana and bready malts.

Despite all the hops, it is not as hop-driven as you might expect.  It sits comfortably between a strong blond ale, and a Belgian IPA.  There are sweet malts up front, balanced quickly by the bitterness and spicing from the five types of hops used.  There is a crispness to the beer, aided by the good level of carbonation.

The beer finishes nice and dry, with a pleasant lingering slightly bitter aftertaste.

The Glassware: the beer is served in one of the most beautiful glasses of any of the Belgian beers.  And it has a twist.  The idea is that you leave the last 1-2 cms of beer in the bottom of the bottle, and this goes into the branded shot glass.  Take a sip of the beer, then drink the yeast shot and see how this changes the flavour of the beer in the glass on the next sip.
