by Brasserie Lefebvre

The brewery describes this beer as being characteristic for old farm-based breweries.  Wheat (40%), coriander and dried orange peel are added, and the infusion method of slowly adding hot water makes for the historical analogy.

The beer is cloudy and unfiltered, with a crisp white head.  There is an inviting aroma of orange citrus and the soft coriander.  All with a hint of Belgian yeast in the background.

The taste is a pleasant balance of flavours that compliment each other, without any one feature standing out too obviously.  A grainy wheat crispness, citrus which comes through with a slight hint of sweetness from the orange, gentle spicing from the coriander with a hint of clove, and a semi-dry finish with a slight peppery tingle.Perfect for a warm afternoon session-starter.  Softens as the beer stands, with flavours coming out a little more, but serve cold from the fridge to enjoy the crisp mouthfeel.

Beer Fact : this beer is (or has been) sold under several different names, into different markets.  Ever had a Manneken Pils, Meditteranea, Blanche de Francorchamps, Floreffe Wit or L'Alsacienne Blanche de l'Ete?  They are all the same beer!
