Bink Blond pours a slightly hazy, golden orange. There is a good sized off white head of densely packed bubbles which dissipate slowly. It has the typical Belgian Blond yeasty aroma, but also a generous dose of crisp floral hop notes.
The hop bitterness is immediately present, followed by a sweet biscuity malt and some distant hints of light fruits. The beer finishes refreshingly dry, with a lasting slightly bitter aftertaste. This beer is unusually hoppy for a Belgian Blond, and is a nice variation on the style.
According to the brewer, 'this is just the way most Belgian beers used to be'.Brouwerij Kerkom produce a range of beers under the 'Bink' label. This was the first beer produced by the brewery, and remains a firm favourite.
Adorning the wall of the farmhouse building housing the brewery is the proud statement 'We brew it here, We drink it here, We sell what's left!'
