Belgian Pack

Need a late gift for Father's Day?  Or just missing the tastes of Belgium?

Either way this 6-pack of Belgian beers will set things right.

1.  Gulden Draak Imperial Stout  12% (330ml) - A very Belgian beer, that is probably more like a quadrupel than a stout.  But forgetting style, it’s a really delicious beer that is way too easy to drink for the ABV.

2.  Pannepeut Old Monk's Ale  10% (330ml) - The flavour of this beer follows that of a standard quad. Sweet bready malts, juicy dark fruits like prunes, raisins, plums and bursts of dark chocolate that start heading toward a coffee hint. This finish is long, and leaves a flavoursome thin coating on the tongue.

3. Brugge Tripel 8.7% (330ml) - This is a clear yellow golden ale, with very high carbonation which leads to a billowing white head. The nose is subtle, with the only discernable aromas being ripe fruits like apple and grape, and a slight floral scent from a faint hop background.

4. Corsendonk Pater 7.5% (330ml) - This beer pours a lovely mahogany brown, with a billowing white head presenting a fantastic image in the glass.  The nose is strongly of dark fruits - raisins, plums, figs - with caramel and hints of chocolate from the roasted malts.

5. Arabier 8% (330ml) - A golden yellow body supports a billowing white head (beware – you will need to poor this beer carefully).  Typical Belgian yeast aromas come pouring out of the glass, along with earthy hops.

6. Saison d'Erpe-mere 6.9% (330ml) - This beer pours a straw yellow, and is working overtime producing a creamy white head which billows in the glass.   The smell is all about the yeast – rich bold and intriguing.  Zesty fruits and grassy blossoms do their best to compete with the musty ‘horse blanket’.
