This beer is a Christmas seasonal offering from the renowned De Struise Brouwers. Classed as a strong pale ale; it is a very unique beer. It pours a slightly hazy, light copper colour with athick creamy off-white head. The aroma is a wonderfully delicious combination of ripe summer fruits, floral and grassy hops, sweet bready malts and soft spices.
The flavour comes in waves. There is prominent sweetness, like ripe bananas and apricots, as well as brown sugar or caramel. The spices and hops bite through this sweetness, and a strong malt backbone results in a creamy, full taste that ends with a peppery dryness.
This beer ages very well, and can continue to develop flavour and complexity for several years.
