Dutch pack

We've put together some beers from our lastest container that are all made by Dutch brewers:

1. Kees Caramel Fudge Stout 11.5% (330ml) - Remove the cap and the sweet fudge aroma bursts out of the bottle.  Chocolate, vanilla and a little burnt sugar.  The flavour follows suit with the addition of the roasted malts and the slightest hint of coffee.

2. Zundert 8 8% (330ml) - Zundert is a classic Belgian tripel style.  It pours a lovely amber colour, and has all the hallmark tripel aromas – orange citrus, melon, caramel malt, light spices and of course the typical Belgian yeast characteristics.

3. Uiltje Bird of Prey 5.8% (330ml) - The team at Uiltje pride themselves on their hop-driven beers, and this beer is the workhorse of their portfolio. Three different malts create a lovely malt backbone supporting the generous doses of Simcoe, Chinook, Mosaic and Glacier (new one to me!) hops.  Biscuity malt with a touch of caramel meld with a fruitbowl of apricot, peach, melon, grapefruit, orange citrus and a hint of pine.

4. Kees Spring Blossom Pale Ale 6.0% (330ml) - The perfect beer to welcome in the Spring, this pale ale is bursting with fresh floral hop aromas, and a little citrus in taste.  Delicate and vibrant, this beer is 'a breeze of hoppiness in your glass'.

5. Uiltje Owl 8.2% (440ml) - this New England style Imperial IPA (NEIIPA is the appropriate acronym) features two experimental hops (HBC 742 and HBC 630), plus Idaho 7 for a tropical fruit bowl aroma and taste.  Peach, sweet mandarin, pineapple, grapefruit and even a little passionfruit are all offered in the sweet, velvet smooth malty body that finishes with just enough hop bitterness to make you go back for more.  And if you are a fan of Married With Children, just buy it for the label!

6. Uiltje Put On A Hoppy Face 9.0% (440ml) - a typically splendid Double IPA from the Dutch masters of hoppy beers.  Fruit flavours of orange, grapefruit and pineapple are present, along with a solid malt backbone and a pleasant lingering bitterness.  This hoppy monster will certainly put a smile on your face.
