Most people enjoy a good pale ale or IPA, but in our local market you'd be forgiven for thinking that there isn't much more to beer recipes than hops.
This pack aims to prove there is more than just hops, highlighting beer styles that celebrate yeast and malt instead.
1. Jandrain-Jandrenouille VI Wheat 6.5% (330ml) - here we have a wheat saison, or a cross between a saison and witbier. A crisp malt body, good carbonation and a little funk from the French farmhouse yeast
2. Trinity Grains of Colour 4.1% (375ml) - this Grisette (old style saison) highlights ancient grains by using buckwheat, naked golden oats, pilsen malt, rye, triticale, vienna malt and wheat, all with a light farmhouse yeast
3. Kees Top Of The Morning 8.6% (330ml) - an Oatmeal Coffee Breakfast Stout, so probably means it is fine to have this before midday! Chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, (restrained) coffee, roasted malts and a hint of vanilla wrapped up in a really smooth mouthfeel
4. De Moersleutel Smoke Screen 8.0% (440ml) - a smoked Imperial Stout. The Rauch (Smoked) malt gives the beer an aroma like amoked bacon. It is smooth and deceptively sweet, with enough roasted malt and bitterness to balance things out
5. De Molen Before & After 8.8% (330ml) - this has to be the perfect after dinner beverage. An Imperial Stout with chocolate and mint, it is like an alcoholic after dinner mint!
6. La Debauche Slap A Banker 12.0% (330ml) - a big malty barley wine, lots of caramel, brown sugar, dried fruits and a hint of licorice. All wrapped up in a comforting big beer that is easier to drink than it should be for the ABV
